Czech Haus

Paul and Marilyn Hanslik opened the Czech Haus in 2013.  Our goal is to provide high quality, quiet, safe and affordable lodging in our hometown and return value to our community.  The Czech Haus is located just 8 miles south of I-10 on SH 95 and centrally located between the communities of Shiner, Flatonia, Hallettsville, Schulenburg and Gonzales.  It is in the Eagle Ford Shale and a terrific place to stay while visiting relatives, attending business concerns or enjoying some of the attractions Gonzales, Fayette or Lavaca County have to offer.

There are many festivals to attend such as the Moulton Town & Country Jamboree, the Hallettsville Fiddler’s Frolics, the Flatonia Czhilispiel or Shiner Half-Moon Holiday, to name a few.  You can also tour the Texas Wine Trail or the Spoetzl Brewery.  Other area businesses include Kaspar Wire Works, Cal-Maine Foods, Marathon Oil and Lucas Oil.  Locally, you can sample excellent food at Alley Bar-B-Que or Kloesel’s Steakhouse famous prime rib!

You can also simply relax with your favorite beverage in a rocking chair on our porch and visit with friends.  Come, stay awhile and enjoy a taste of life in a small town.

Moulton, "the Friendly little City with a heart as big as Texas" is located in the magic triangle of Austin, San Antonio and Houston, all within a 90 mile drive. This historic area of Texas is also home to Shiner and Gonzales, all favorite sites for early settlement by Czech and German immigrants so there is never a shortage of exciting and educational things to see and do.

While staying at the Moulton Inn and Suites you may want to check out one of the many wineries, take the Painted Church tour or shop one of the area antique shops. Our staff will assist with information and directions.

Shiner, a short 9 mile drive, has the Gas Light Theater providing an evening of dining and great plays featuring area thespians. Spoetzl Brewery, Home of Shiner Beer is also in Shiner. Not only does the brewery offer great tours,
but they sponsor a cycle ride each spring and a 1/2 marathon and 10k run in the fall.  With the additional festivals and local activities, be sure to call early to make your reservations!
